Our Commitment to Quality, the Environment and Health & Safety 

Lightweight Structures Pty Ltd recognizes the importance of achieving global quality standards and recognizes the high value customers and clients place upon a rigorous commitment to quality. As a company we have developed a quality culture which permeates every aspect of our business from design and manufacture, through to service and installation.

Lightweight Structures Pty Ltd is proud to have ISO Certification in three standards.

 

Environmental Policy

Lightweight Structures has adopted an Environmental Management System (EMS) to manage the environmental impacts of the Company’s activities to reduce the adverse effects of our business activities on the environment.

The company is committed to protecting the environment, including the prevention of pollution from all aspects of its operation.

The scope of work undertaken by the company includes the full design of Lightweight Structures, Project Management and installation of Built Structures.  Based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD the company works in all states and territories of Australia.

The commitment to maintain an EMS will cover the activities of the company.  The EMS will enable the Company to:

·       Conform to all Legislative Regulations and Guidelines

·       Carry out its activities in an environmentally responsible manner

·       Comply to the requirement of ISO14001

·       Maintain a policy with objectives and targets that can be demonstrated with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and measured for continuous improvement.

·       Regular Management review (minimum annually) to identify that the objectives and targets are being met or bettered in terms of benefit to the environment.

The implementation of this policy will be the responsibility of the Company Quality/Environmental representative who will be given adequate resources and authority to implement the policy.

Employee’s and subcontractors will be instructed in the intent and implementation of this policy.

Lightweight Structures EMS is a public document that will be displayed at the company’s office and made available to all interested parties.

OH & S Policy

Lightweight Structures is committed to the establishment of a safe and healthy workplace, safe working methods, and the provision of safe equipment.  Occupational health and safety (OH & S) are considered by management to be an integral and vital part of the successful performance of any job.  Lightweight Structures has implemented an OH & S system based on ISO 45001.  This policy sets out the responsibilities of Lightweight Structures Management and its employees with the aim that together we can keep the workplace safe and productive.

  • Lightweight Structures has a commitment to consultation between employer, staff and sub-contractors in relation to OH & S policy and procedures, and continuous improvement of the system.

  • Ongoing identification, assessment and control of workplace hazards and associated risks.  This includes assessment of both initial and residual RISKS.

  • Management of OH & S during client visits, and where the company is contracted to control a client’s site using the company’s policy and procedures.

  • Reporting of incidents/near misses and accidents.  Active investigation of these situations to develop effective strategies to eliminate or minimise reoccurrence.

  • Active training of staff in OH & S and operational requirements with performance reviews and key performance indicators (KPI’s) used to assess and develop continuous improvement strategies for individuals.

  • Conducting internal reviews and audits of the system to identify any potential problems, thereby allowing improvement.

  • Preparation of OH & S objectives (Key Performance Indicators) to measure system performance and processes put in place to collect data to measure progress with their attainment. Commit to continual improvement of OH & S legislation.

  • Maintaining a OH & S policy and procedures complaint with the requirements of applicable OH & S legislation and the associated regulations in each region Lightweight Structures operates – as well as – ISO 45001 Safety Management System Standard. Fulfil legal requirements and other requirements.

  • Development of policy and procedures and communication of them to all stake holders inclusive of employees, subcontractors and third-party suppliers.

  • Recognition of management and staff of their ongoing obligation to consider the health and safety of others in the workplace.

  • Maintaining equipment in accordance with manufacture’s specifications, with faulty items removed from use until faults have been rectified – illuminate hazards.

  • Ensuring Staff are adequately utilizing PPE and Providing staff with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.

  • Performance-management of third-party suppliers, including compliance with OH&S requirements

  • Referencing documents and revision controlling to ensure currency of information – this documentation will be available as documented information, be communicated within the organization, be available to interested parties (as appropriate), be relevant and appropriate.

Management reviewing this policy in consultation with staff to ensure that the information remains relevant to Lightweight Structures operations.

Quality Policy

Lightweight Structures is committed to offering clients the best value-based proposition for the design and build of a Lightweight Fabric Project.  As a business our core strength rests in our design and engineering ability.  As such, as an organization we apply a strong emphasis on design, as quality systems and processes in the design of a project will yield outstanding results in the appropriate selection of project inputs (fabric) and the manufacture and build of a project (structural steel, cabling and fabrication of canopies).  In terms of Project Design, we endeavour to surpass our clients’ exacting requirements by identifying latent design issues that our clients may not initially know need to be addressed.  Lightweight Structures has a genuine commitment to designing tensile membrane fabric projects that are high quality, functional and attractive, delivered on time and on budget and most importantly offering our clients excellent value.
